Bruine Bonensoup (Dutch Soup)
Hot Winter Soup
500 gr. dryed brown beans
500 gr. onions (in rings)
3 liters water
4 pcs. beef-tea-cubes
1 pcs. pared potatoe
1 1/2 tsp. currypowder
1 1/2 tsp. paprika powder
some whiskey or cognac
smoked sausage
Ketjap Asin
Ketjap Manis
pepper
salt
worcestershire sauce
2 bayleafs

 

Boil the beans in the water for about 2 hours with the bayleafs. Stir once in a while, to make sure it will not burn to the pan. Meanwhile, bake the onions real brown and add them together with the pared patatoe tho the beans. Boil for another 1/2 hour. Blend the soup and pass it through a sieve. Add the beef-tea-cubes, ketjap, curry and paprika powder, stir with whiskers till everything is well mixed. Slice the smoked sausage, add it to the soup and finally some whiskey or cognac. Make sure it is tasty enough, if not add some salt and pepper and worcestershire sauce.
