FISH SOUP
Fish in Tamarind
1 kg of Fish (any).
150 grams of chopped Onions.
6 Green Chillies.
2 spoons of Red Chilly powder.
1 tea spoon of Turmeric powder.
6 Cloves.
6 Cardamoms.
2 spoons of Coriander Seeds.
2 spoons of Cumin Seeds.
6 pods of Garlic.
2 inch size Ginger Piece.
Salt to Taste.
200 ml of Refined oil.
100 grams of Tamarind.
2 spoons of Mustered Seeds.
3 numbers of Red Chillies


 

1. Clean the fish and cut in to
medium size pieces.
2. Apply turmeric powder, salt and
red chilly powder to the fish pieces
and marinate for 30 minutes.
3. Take the chopped onions, garlic
pods, ginger, cardamoms, cloves,
coriander seeds and cumin seeds in to a bowl and grind in to smooth paste.
4..Soak the tamarind in warm water
and extract thick juice.
5. Split the green chillies length
wise.
6. Put a deep bottomed cooking vessel on the stove, add oil and heat.
7. Add the marinated fish pieces
and fry. Remove the pieces.
8. To the same oil add the paste
( item no. 3) and fry until brown.
9. Now add the fish pieces and
tamarind extract to this paste, mix
well with out breaking the fish
pieces. Add some water and salt and
leave to simmer.
10. Take the red chillies, mustered seeds and 1 spoon of oil and grind into smooth paste.
11. Add this paste to the simmering
preparation and mix carefully.
12. Put off the flame after the
preparation is done.

SERVE HOT.
