Sweet & Sour Sauce
Tasty Sauce
1 whole carrot (large)
1 Red Pepper
1 Small tomato, Pureed
1 Large onion
1 Garlic clove
1 Cup malt vinegar
1 Cup Granulated sugar
2 Pints water
Cornflour to thicken

 

Thinly slice all the vegetables, then lightly fry in a large pan.

Add the water and vinegar and simmer for about 15 minutes, then add the puree and simmer for a further 10 minutes, skim and add the sugar and whisk.

Make the cornflour and drizzle in whilst whisking until you have the desired thickness.

You can strain the vegetables from the sauce or leave the vegetables in the sauce.

Serve with pan fried chicken or batter chicken balls. Or just use as a sauce for dipping.
