Scrumptious Scones
tasty scones with a delicious filling
• 225g (8 oz) Self Raising Flour
• A pinch of salt
• 1 tbsp Baking Powder
• 50g (2 oz) Butter
• 150ml Milk
• 25g (1 oz) White Chocolate Chips
• 25g (1 oz) Plain Chocolate Chips
• 15g (1/2 oz) Caster Sugar
• Cream or Jam to serve with


Lightly grease a baking tray with flour or butter. Preheat the oven to 190ºC. Sieve the four into a mixing bowl, and mix in the butter. Add the rest of the ingredients, except the milk and chocolate chips. Add a little milk, and mix in. Keep adding until the mixture is half solid. Add the chocolate, and mix in well. Keep adding milk until solid. Sprinkle a little flour onto a hard, flat surface. Knead the dough until smooth. Roll out with a rolling pin until around 1-2cm thick. Cut out the scone shapes with a fluted edge cutter. You can cut out hearts and stars as well. Be careful not to twist the cutter, as the scone will not break easily after being cooked! Place scones onto the baking tray, and glaze with milk or a beaten egg. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden. Lift tray onto a pan stand or rack. Lift the scones onto a cooling rack with a fish slice and leave to cool for 10-15 minutes. Serve with cream or jam. Enjoy!
