Post subject:  Carnation Coffee Mate ICING Recipe

YEARS ago, perhaps during the 1950s and 60s, my mom made a wonderful cake icing using Carnation Coffee Mate Powder. Over the years the recipe has disappeared......anyone recall this, and if so, do you have the original recipe? It used to be on the paper label surrounding the jar.

With thx,

Is this it? I found this one right here on this site. If it's not the correct one, I've contacted the company and hopefully they'll send it to me, because I'd like to try it myself :D

Here, possibly, is a recipe, BUT the clincher here is, this calls for liquid Coffee-mate. I think that as a substitution, maybe the dry Coffee-Mate could be dissolved with some hot milk , possibly 3 tablespoons of hot milk. Whaddya think? Is this close to your mom's recipe *hoping*:

2 cups sifted powdered sugar
3 tablespoons melted butter
3 tablespoons Coffee-Mate liquid, French Vanilla flavor (my substitution is 1/8 cup powdered Coffee-Mate and 3 tablespoons hot milk)
