AWESOME SWEET GAARELU
VADALS WITH COCONUT AND BROWN SUGAR
Black gram is widely used in India in the preparation of a variety of foods. Black gram contains proteins, calcium ,fiber, iron, phosphorous, carbohydrates and a small amount of vitamin-B. Black gram is good for the people with initial stages of diabetes. Also effective in the cure of certain nervous disorders, sexual dysfunction, and digestive disorders.


Black Gram (husk removed): 2 Cups
Coconut Grate : 1 Cup
Brown Sugar : 2 Cups
Butter : 1 Cup
Salt: 1 Tea Spoon
Refined Oil : 750 ml

 

1. Soak the black gram over night. Drain water and grind into a thick dough. Add butter, salt and coconut grate and mix well.

2. Add 1 cup of water to a deep bottomed vessel and boil. Add brown sugar and continue boiling until a thick syrup is formed.

3. Add the syrup to the dough, mix thoroughly and prepare about one inch thick and three inch wide circular discs.

4. Take oil in a deep bottomed pan and heat.

5. Carefully put the discs, one by one, into the boiling oil and fry until they turn into golden brown.

Serve Hot.
